ATHENA R290 Air-to-water monobloc heat pump

At Tekno Point, we are always looking for solutions that better preserve our planet. That's why we've added a new version of ATHENA to our heat pump range, which uses eco-friendly R290.

The new ATHENA R290 represents a further thermal advancement: it can reach a higher maximum water temperature compared to ATHENA R32. However, this thermal advantage must be supported by a well-designed system to ensure optimized energy consumption. If needed, the system’s heating and cooling power can be increased simply by adding more units—up to 7 in total, even with different capacities—for a combined output of 119 kW.

This creates a cascade-configured thermal generator, where all units operate in synergy (master/slave) via dedicated software and BUS connection between the internal electronic boards of each unit (RS485 port).

ATHENA R290 is particularly suitable for both new buildings and well-insulated existing structures.

It integrates exceptionally well with low-temperature heating systems such as radiant surfaces (floor, wall, ceiling), fan coils, and new-generation aluminum radiators. Integration with ERA, Tekno Point’s brand-new remote Building Automation system, can also be a requirement to access certain incentives.

R290 GAS
R290 is a natural refrigerant gas, also known as propane. Recently introduced in the heat pump market, it is considered highly eco-friendly due to its very low global warming potential (GWP <3). As a pure gas, it contains no chemical additives that release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. It is also highly energy-efficient, making it a valid and sustainable alternative to synthetic refrigerants.
